Your distinction between individuality and essence here was very helpful for me and reminds me of the way Rudolf Steiner insisted on the individuality of spiritual beings. I think same-sex marriage is fine, but I don't know much of anything about platonic pederastry. Pederastry in general rubs me the wrong way, but I prefer to refrain from passing judgment on stuff I don't know much about.
The Greeks were much more religious than people today realize. Greek pederasty was a part of shamanistic initiation. A charismatic thing. Shamans learn to walk and talk with beings of the spirit world. And speak metaphysical gibberish. I am a Greek Christian metaphysician, a shaman.
