So, Next Year Huh? Here's a Recap and Some (Interesting) Plans
This is my last post of the year, so I’ve got some recap and some news.
This has been a year of eye openings and guilt trips. It has also been a year of transitions. I’m back in school, and the workload makes every week seem like the apocalypse. I became more vocal about my universalism, and symbolism became a thing for me. I made new friends, which is probably the biggest highlight so far. Despite its faults, Twitter has been a blessing to me this year, especially because of the new friends. Hopefully there’s no apocalypse type event that disconnects us.
Albums this year surprised me. Jon Bellion’s “Glory Sound Prep” forced me to reconsider what a Jon Bellion song could be like. It was confusing at first, but I soon fell in love with every song like I always do. Fireboy, the suddenly famous Nigerian artist, blew my categories with his recent album “Laughter, Tears and Goosebumps“, with no features at all. They are now a favorite. Stormzy’s “Heavy is the Head” is my go to rap album this year, the audacity of that album! If you get ;).
So far, next year seems to promise at least one new lecrae album, so far so good. But there’s also news from my end concerning my escapades in social media: I’m joining the bandwagon and starting my own YouTube channel. This blog is still about my general thoughts, and will remain active until further notice. The YouTube channel, on the other hand, is about fandom: The general symbolism I see in the anime, comics, movies and books I read and watch, and its “theological meaning” if you will.
There are already video ideas written down, and some video editing software (I will not appear on camera much, if at all). All that remains is time, some new gadgets (like a good microphone, a new laptop and a hard drive) and perhaps, some courage. I invite you to pray with me if you can, my introvert self keeps reasserting itself. There is no fixed timeline, I hope to upload he first video before June, and God willing, maybe even before April. I will try to keep it consistent at one video per month, unless school gets intense.
That’s the closest I’ve come to an actual New Years resolution I’ve set my mind on. I’m trusting that it will come to pass. Thanks for your support, God bless you, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year in Advance.
