The Apocalypse of John is my favourite biblical book. As someone who likes fantasy media, this book is like heaven. So much to see, so much to know, so much to interpret. I don’t write about it too much here because I still have so much to learn about it. We will probably never know, in this life, the full intricacies of how these symbols were interpreted in the communities they were written for. But we can make a fair amount of educated guesses. My goal here is to offer a theological interpretation, not fully based on the symbolic library of that community, but as a creative reinterpretation, to see more revelation, more Gods, and as a way to reconcile with it for those estranged from the Christian community, like me. Whatever communities take over this book from the Christian, I want to offer ways of reading it. This is the first post in view of that vision.
